Build it & Amazulu FC host another successful U13 Training Camp

Amazulu FC & Build it hosted their annual three day football training camp from 17-20 December 2020 to much fanfare at Durban’s Kings Park Training grounds.

Thirty players from different parts of KZN as well as other provinces got first hand mentorship from South Africa’s best football import and Coach, Benni McCarthy and AmaZulu General Manager, Tsepiso Mofokeng.

McCarthy is only a full week into his role as AmaZulu Head Coach after he was appointed on 14th December 2020.

The former Bafana Bafana striker encouraged the youngsters to remain steadfast in their pursuit for a football career while never losing sight of their commitment to education.

Ohlange High School Grade 9 learner, Thobani Sithole, who obtained his scholarship after being selected from last year’s crop of players that were part of the 2019 camps after being scouted in Mandeni, was pleased to see his heroes.

He said: “The scholarship changed my life in a big way because I have a top-class education at Ohlange High School and a chance at playing for AmaZulu’s first team one day.”

AmaZulu attacking midfield ace and South African football icon, Siphiwe Tshabalala pointed out Ohlange High School and Glenwood High School alumni Sphesihle Maduna and Sbusiso Magaqa as prime examples of what the Build It U13 program has produced.

The rest of the squad greeted the young players after they were treated to an exclusive opportunity to watch them go about their paces at training.

The program is used as a scouting drive to identify the ultimate talent for the AmaZulu academy at Glenwood High School and Ohlange High School.
