Build it Rewards Loyalty Terms & Conditions

  • 1. GENERAL CONDITIONS
    • 1.1. These are the terms and conditions between The SPAR Group Limited (Registration Number 1967/001572/06 trading under the brand “Build it”), its participating retailers (also trading under the “Build it” brand and who, for the purposes of these conditions, shall be “Build it”) and the purchaser acquiring goods on the Build it Rewards Programme.
    • 1.2. The Build it trading model is based on voluntary trade and accordingly, stores are independently owned. As such:
      • 1.2.1. Not all Build it branded stores are participants in the Rewards Loyalty Programme.
      • 1.2.2. The items subject to the Rewards Loyalty Programme will differ from store to store.
      • 1.2.3. Stores have different return policies.
      • 1.2.4. These conditions are the general conditions which will apply to all participating stores.
    • 1.3. SPAR reserves the right to update these Terms at any time and without notice. Any such amendments will be effective upon publication on www.buildit.co.za/rewards. The obligation remains on the customer to ensure that it is familiar with the latest version of these Terms prior to participating in Build it Rewards and the qualifying products and return policies in the participating store.
    • 1.4. Please take a moment to read these terms and conditions including our policies (“Terms”) to understand how they apply to your participation in Build it Rewards.
    • 1.5. These Terms apply to all Build it Rewards purchases subject to the loyalty programme. Please read them carefully and print a copy for future reference. You are required to register with us as a Rewards Customer. You can register by visiting the Build it website (www.buildit.co.za/rewards), USSD (dial *120*1001# and follow the prompts), or at a participating Build it store.
    • 1.6. The Build it Help Desk can be contacted on 0861 333 269.
    • 1.7. Registration and/or use of Build it Rewards constitutes your acceptance and agreement to be bound by the Terms of Build it Rewards.
    • 1.8. After Registration, you will be required to link a Rewards card to your profile at a participating Build it store.
    • 1.9. All products subject to the Rewards Loyalty Programme are subject to availability. We reserve the right to discontinue or change the specifications of our products and services from time to time without notice.
    • 1.10. Your participation in this Rewards Loyalty Programme constitutes consent for the purposes POPIA. See our Privacy Policy.
  • 2. BUILD IT REWARDS CONDITIONS
    • 2.1. Build it Rewards is intended solely for the benefit of legitimately registered customers making legitimate purchases.
    • 2.2. Points are allocated to qualifying products. 1 point = R1/1 Namibian Dollar (depending on the location of the purchase of the qualifying products).
    • 2.3. Points can be earned on purchase of Build it Rewards products by scanning your Rewards card or by inserting your cell number at the till point. For product qualification, please consult the manager of the participating store. Not all products purchased will result in the allocation of points - only qualifying products.
    • 2.4. Points can be redeemed 24 hours after the purchase of the qualifying product at the point of sale of any participating Build it store in the country where the purchase giving rise to the points were made, e.g. points earned in Namibia may only be redeemed in participating Namibian stores. Points are not transferrable, cannot be duplicated or sold and cannot be exchanged for cash. Points will only accrue to the Rewards Loyalty Programme member.
    • 2.5. Products may be returned in terms of the participating Build it Stores return policy. To the extent that any products are returned (not exchanged), the points allocated to the returned products will be rescinded which may result, where the points have been utilised, in such accounts going into the negative.
    • 2.6. If a profile is dormant for more than three (3) years, such account/profile will be deactivated and the accumulated points forfeited, regardless of whether or not such profile is reactivated subsequently.
    • 2.7. For security purposes, a One-Time Pin is required on redemption of any points and will be sent to the cell phone number that you registered with. Accordingly, a cell phone using the registered number is required when redeeming points at the point of sale.
    • 2.8. Points earned through any unauthorised use of the Rewards card will not be honoured.
    • 2.9. In the event of any abuse or fraud committed by any person and/or conduct involving the abuse of the loyalty programme, Build it reserves the right to take appropriate action against the responsible person and all rewards accrued and unredeemed rewards and rewards issues may be forfeited and the membership revoked.
    • 2.10. It is the customer’s responsibility to update their cell phone number with the Build it Help Desk should their cell number change. Build it will not be held responsible for any unredeemable points.
    • 2.11. The Build it Help Desk can be contacted on 0861 333 269.
    • 2.12. Points can only be earned and redeemed once per customer per transaction.
    • 2.13. Delivery or transport fees do not contribute to the customer’s spend on Build it Rewards.
    • 2.14. Lost, stolen or damaged cards should be reported to the Build it Customer Service Careline. Lost, stolen or damaged cards will be replaced at the in-store Customer Service Desk on presentation of positive identification. If the monetary value of the rewards, attached to the card, have been redeemed in-store before the card is reported as lost or stolen, there can be no subsequent recovery of the benefit. Build it cannot be held liable for loss of loyalty programme rewards or monetary value thereof.
    • 2.15. These conditions may contain conditions for the benefit of third parties (stipulation alteri) which may be accepted at any time.
    • 2.16. Days shall be calendar days and calculated by excluding the first and including the last day (unless the last day is a Sunday or Public holiday in which case, the last day will be the next working day).
    • 2.17. A member is able to obtain multiple cards which will be linked to such member’s profile. In such instance, the redemption of points must be done by the member as any OTP will be sent to the registered cell phone number.
