1. How do I get the Build it 2U app?
If you would like the convenience of buying building materials & hardware online, open the app store on your iOS or Android mobile device. Search for Build it 2U, install the app and register & sign up to continue.
2. How do I register/sign up?
When you log onto Build it2U, you will be prompted to register or login.
3. What if I already have a SPAR2U account?
As Build it is part of the SPAR Group, should you already be a SPAR2U account customer, you can sign in with your SPAR account.
4. Is online shopping available throughout Southern Africa?
The online shopping service may not be available at all Build it stores. The availability of this service at any Build it store is at the discretion of Build it and may change without prior notice.
5. What can I order online?
With Build it2U, you can select from a core range of building materials and hardware that has been carefully selected for our online range. We’ll be regularly updating the range available.
6. What payment methods can I use?
We accept most debit & credit cards. *Please refer to point 12 for in-store account holders
7. When will I be charged for my order?
Upon successful payment confirmation, you will be charged for the order.
8. How do I know if my order has been successfully placed or not?
When your order has been received by us, confirmation will be displayed. An invoice will be emailed to you.
9. Will you have all the items I ordered in stock?
At Build it, we do our best to make sure that we have stock on hand of everything offered in Build it 2U. We update the online store daily and monitor the stock of products. Items that are not in stock will not be unavailable to purchase. In the event that the items are not available at the time of picking the order, the relevant Build it store will make contact with you and offer you the following options;
- To wait until the stock arrives.
- To deliver the stock that is available and refund you for the out-of-stock items
- To cancel the order and be refunded the full amount.
10. How long does a refund take?
Refunds usually reflect after 5-10 business days. If the refund is not reflecting after 2 weeks, please check with your bank.
11. How can I receive my order?
Fulfillment methods available are delivery and collection in-store. *Please refer to point 12 for account holders. For collection in-store you can choose from a Build it of your choice. For deliveries the nearest Build it store to your delivery address will be defaulted.
12. What if I want to buy on my in-store account?
If your in-store account has been verified for Build it 2U, then you can most definitely buy on your account. The fulfillment method is collection only and verification is required on order collection
13. What is the charge for delivery?
Our delivery charges are calculated on checkout and are based on the order’s volumetrics dimensions and delivery location.
14. When is the earliest I can receive my delivery from order placement?
Delivery slots are displayed based on availability within the coverage area. No slots will be available within 72 hours of order placement. There is a morning and afternoon slot to choose from. Deliveries take place on business days between 09h00 – 16h00, excluding public holidays.
15. How do I know when my delivery is on the way?
We’ll send you a notification. All statuses can be tracked on Build it 2U.
16. What happens if I’m not at home when my delivery arrives?
In the event of a failed delivery, your order will be returned to the store and you will be notified with the option to either reschedule or cancel the order. Should you cancel the order, you will be refunded for the returned products, less the delivery fee.
17. Do I have to pay for a second delivery attempt after a failed first delivery?
No, a second delivery attempt is included. However, a second failed delivery attempt will result in the order being automatically cancelled and you being refunded for the products (less the delivery fee).
18. What happens if the driver cannot find the delivery site due to inaccurate delivery details provided?
We shall use reasonable endeavors to try and effect deliveries, however this may come at additional costs should a delivery need to be re-scheduled.
19. Can I reschedule my delivery slot after order confirmation?
No, currently Build it 2U does not offer rescheduling. However, you may contact the Build it store fulfilling the order to reschedule, provided the scheduled delivery time is not within 24 hours?
20. What happens if items are missing in the delivery but still invoiced to my account?
If this unfortunate incident does happen, the goods will be re-delivered to you.
21. When can I collect my order in-store?
Orders placed online for collection can be collected from the relevant Build it store within 2 business days of order confirmation.
22. How will I know when my order is ready for collection in-store?
You will receive notification on Build it2U when the order is ready for collection.
23. How long do I have to collect my in-store order?
You have 5 business days to collect the order. After 5 days the order will be cancelled, and you will be refunded.
24. How do I cancel my order?
Should you wish to cancel an order, this can only be done before the order picking phase when the order status is in the ‘Planned’ stage.
25. Can I cancel specific items on my order?
No, only full order cancellations are permitted.
26. Can I track my order?
Yes, all order statuses can be tracked on Build it 2U.
27. What happens if my delivered item/s is damaged or incorrect?
If you discover that an item/s is incorrect or damaged on delivery, you have the choice to return just these items or the full order on delivery, or within 10 days of delivery.
On delivery the items will be returned with the driver and you will be refunded for the items.
After delivery, you have 10 business days to return the items and the return must be logged on Build it 2U. You will be refunded for the returned items.
28. Will I still have to pay the delivery fee if I return damaged or incorrect items?
If you return a full order, you will also be refunded the delivery fee. Delivery fees will still apply should there be partial acceptance of an order.
29. What happens if my collected item/s is damaged or incorrect?
You have 10 business days from collection to return the item/s to the store for a refund. All returns must be logged on Build it 2U.
30. What if I want to return an item as I no longer need it / it wasn’t what I was looking for?
Should you wish to return a product that was delivered or collected by you, you will need to log a return via Build it 2U. Return method is as per the original fulfillment method. Delivery fees will apply for collection of the item/s for return (delivered fulfilment). All refunds will exclude the original delivery fee.
31. How long do I have to return the item to the store once the return has been logged?
You must return the item to the store within 5 business days of logging the return.
32. Can I cancel a return once submitted on Build it 2U?
No, once a return has been submitted via Build it 2U, it cannot be cancelled.
